Could you clone by ssid to new volume and use expiration time ?
Also, do you have latest driver firmware for the drives ? need cleaning ?

In 7.5 it doesn't happen everytime, at this point I would say 4 out of 5 
clone operations it will error.  Looks like this in the daemon.raw file:
