[Networker] Auto labeling with nsrjb
2009-03-01 04:21:57
If these tapes are labelled and in the media database then it would be
preferable to refer to them by Volume name. I assume that, since you are
referring to them by slot, they have valid labels but have come from another
system or been purged from the media database.
There is a bug / omission in Networker 7.4 in that the -R option to nsrjb now
has no effect.
On 7.2.2 our Operators ran a similar script to relable expired daily tapes with
over say 30 mounts into the monthend pools to rotate our tape stock. It relied
on the -R option (do not prompt when overwriting label if tape is recyclable)
to allow this to proceed silently.
The -y option will work, but will overwrite any tape regardless of it's status.
