Re: [Networker] tape drive : service mode

Hello,
Do you use IBM Tape Drivers ? LTO ? There is a feature within recent
drivers to control lun persistence, this is described in the release notes
for the drivers, that may be beneficial for you to implement.
The recent version of Legato software is also offering this feature,
reboot the server and make sure drive order is consistant. If you continue
to have drives go in service mode and you are confident that drive order
is not the issue, i would check the FC switch for any errors,
misconfiguration & Tape Lib log for clues.
There must be diagnostics on the Tape lib to run as well.

tape drive : service mode
There were no issues during loading/unloading of the tapes in all the
drives ( total 4 drives )
On few hosts, the "pesistent binding" tab for the tape drives hasn't been
checked in SAN surfer HBA manager.
There are 2 HBAs / host and each one is accessing 2 drives in the library.
