Caveat:  As cool as these technologies are (we got pitched one about two months 
ago), they don't read adv_file devices - preferably with the Networker 
processes running.  This is a deal-breaker when that's your primary (and 
preferred) onsite backup media.

Going back to the original thread - Changing the Networker arch (say from 
Solaris SPARC to Solaris x64 to save money) can also be a pain, and is not 
supported by EMC.  However its been done - in all-tape installations.  If you 
have adv_file, things will need to be planned carefully for the migration of 
those - if you want to preserve them.  I assume you'll find similar problems 
with NetBackup and Simpana disk devices during an arch transfer.
