If you define the owner notification attribute for the client resource, this no longer functions to the best of my knowledge in 7.4.3.

Yes, that is true. It is a bug and EMC is working on fixing it. We actually don't use the owner notification attribute, instead we have a perl script that we use for regular savegroup completion notification that based on the save group name sends the email to the correct people. If you would like that, email me off-list and I'll gladly share it with you.

The bug is fixed. We received patches for it about 2 weeks ago for major platforms for our customers, and I posted the patch number to the mailing list at that time as it had been a major point of discussion. Here's the relevant information:

This issue is fixed in LGTsc20280. We had patches supplied by EMC to cover:

- Linux 32-bit
- Linux 64-bit
- Windows 32-bit
- Windows 64-bit
- Solaris/Sparc

If you are having this problem, open a case with EMC Support requesting patches as per LGTsc20280.

Preston.
