I think you should get a drive log (drive dump) and send it to the vendor.
They will analyze and tell you what are the messages logged by the drive.
Also concern that any other service such as windows RSM or other test backup
utilities can be caused of unwanted bus resets in the middle of
backups. Check the event logs, any bus reset or scsi reset error?.
