Re: [Networker] Networker management console : Error after the upgrade
2008-11-19 15:50:17
There was a bug with paths and I don't know if it's fixed in 7.4.3. The NMC
code on unix uses tcl and libtcl, and since we had both in /usr/local it was
using the wrong version. We had to modify the gst startup script and everything
would work. I'm still tracking down an issue when the machine is rebooted, the
gst script fails, but works if ran with a root login. This usually points to a
PATH or LD_LIBRARY_PATH issue, but I haven't yet found where it is.

The Same thing happened to us when we upgraded from 7.2.2 to 7.4.2... We
did not stop services or un-install the server software first, just did
an install which upgraded everything in place...
EMC support had me stop / restart the GST service, then look for any
instance of a 'dbsrv9.exe' process and kill it. Once we did that, we
were then able to login via NMC...
These are the type of issues EMC support can usually resolve quickly if
they have seen it before...
