In regard to: [Networker] 7.2.2->7.4 upgrade. new server, same peripherals,...:

  - shut off old server. take backup of /nsr Just In Case
  - start old server; delete drive and library definitions, shut off software
  - take second backup of /nsr and migrate to new server
  - move tape drives from old to new server; do OS stuff to make it
    see them
  - install new version of networker on new server (console will be
on server unless that's a shockingly bad idea....)
  - install license keys
  - configure drives and library

load the update/9 license on your 7.2.2 server, but don't bother
permanently authorizing it there. You want it in place before you install
7.4.2 or 7.4.3 on your new server.

Do the database consistency checks mentioned in the upgrade guide (the
"Technical Guidance ..." doc) that's been mentioned on the list a few
times:

    nsrim -v -X
    nsrck -m
    nsrck -L6

Otherwise, I think your outline looks good. I doubt you'll run into
any problems.

Unless you see something in the release notes or fixed bugs list that
gives you pause, I would probably go with 7.4.3 rather than 7.4.2. We're
running 7.4.2 and it's been very stable for us, but I do know of at least
one bug in 7.4.2 that we tripped that has been fixed in 7.4.3.
