i agree with what you say davina..What i wanted to say was that in the tapes 
which has 320 GB capacity...it stored only 120 ( on an avg) for the filer. But 
if the whole capacity of the filer is 1.2 TB which is uncompressed, it should 
be filled in 3-4 tapes ( 320 * 4= 1.3 Tb approx).

Every1 says that the sdlt tapes is having uncompressed capacity of 320 GB. So 
what my real question is that cant 320 GB of data go in the tape which will 
ultimately help me in reducing the number of tapes.
