Stan,

The other thing is to ask the person running the LDAP server if they have automatic log removal enabled and if not what is their process for managing the logs. If you know how BDB does its log management and checkpointing -- ignore me... otherwise, the log.[0-9]* files are only needed until the checkpoint is finished and then they can be deleted with no loss of data.

On my LDAP servers, I actually use .nsr files to prevent NetWorker from backing up the raw database and run a slapcat command to dump the database (as ldif) prior to the backup.

I have a Red Hat Linux box backing up to a Solaris 10 box (server and client with NetWorker 7.4.1) and for the past few days, the backup of
this client fails with an error along the lines of

* <ERROR> :  cannot stat /usr/local/ldap/ds/db/log.0000017321: No such
file or directory

I am wondering what to do about it. Any suggestions will be
appreciated.

Hello,

maybe a file which was present on the client when NW has walked the filesystem
in order to create its savelist, but this file has disappeared when it was time
to save it.

Have you performed a filesystem check ?

Hope this helps.

Denis
