In regard to: [Networker] Upgrade from 7.2 - 7.4 question, Goslin, Paul...:
We're planning to upgrade our Networker Server from 7.2.2 to 7.4.2 soon
due to EOSL of 7.2.x at the end of this month (Win2003 server SP2).
Would the fact that the partition that holds our indexes & media
database is 136GB with only 30GB free be a problem for the upgrade ?
Not necessarily. The rule of thumb that used to work (I think it still
does, but I could be wrong) is that you want at least as much free space
as your largest client index + some small amount of additional space. If
your largest client index is 5 GB, then having 7 GB free in your index
filesystem should be enough. Obviously having lots of free space is
better than cutting it close.
The media database is generally insignificant in size, in comparison
to client indexes, so you usually don't need to worry about the size of
the media database.
