Once I did this way and it worked fine after moving to the new path.

1. Stop all NetWorker services
2. Copy nsr folder to a temporary location
3. Un-install NetWorker software using add remove program.
4. Install NetWorker software in NEW path
5. Stop all NetWorker services
6. Copy index, mm and res folders to new install path respectively from
backup \nsr . (rename the original folders in new install path before
copying)
7. Start NetWorker services

Custom scripts, notifications etcetra had to be modified accordingly.

Since customer wanted not to retain NMC database, I uninstalled NMC
completely without having any backups and re-installed in new path.
