To my knowledge, this statement is incorrect. We don't use persistent binding or any other tweaks to run our networker installation, which is running on Solaris 10.

My statement is generally true for Solaris 9 and below. Perhaps something is different at Solaris 10? Are you using the Leadville driver, as I think this handles persistent binding without any user intervention?
