Hi Guys

Getting big problems with Novell backups since upgrading from Networker 7.1.2
to 7.4.2

Backup server is Solaris 9, affected Novell servers are all 6.5 SP5, running
the 7.2 Legato client.

Seeing the following errors across all of our servers except 1

* pdd04:USER: 1 retry attempted
* pdd04:USER: SAVE.NLM: RPC error: RPC send operation failed. A network
connection could not be established with the host.
* pdd04:USER: SAVE.NLM: RPC error: RPC send operation failed. A network
connection could not be established with the host.
* pdd04:USER: SAVE.NLM: shutdown failed
* pdd04:Server Specific Info 1 retry attempted
* pdd04:Server Specific Info Server Specific Info: No such file or directory

We have two Networker 7.4.2 backup servers ( one running Solaris 10 o/s ),
they can both backup the same server successfully.

All Novell servers are at the same patch level, the only apparent difference is
that the network interface is hard coded to 100MB full duplex on the Netware
server that backups work for, all of the others are set to auto negotiate.

The backups speed is now in the kb's sec range instead of mb's sec.

There is a Novell tid concerning this behaviour but getting the Novell admins
to roll this patch out quickly is very unlikely!! In the meantime I'm not
getting consistant backups..

Anyone else came across this?
