That path frightens me, knowing what I know about NW (which is little by
comparison to most of the people on this list).

The short time I have been involved with NW has been quite disappointing
when you compare how other companies put their products together and do
things (i.e. TSM, commvault, and netb).

Maybe over time the product will start to catch up with real enterprise
products.

They're grabbing the deduplication functionality from Avamar and slowly
merging it back with Networker. They purchased it expressly for the
deduplication features. Eventually Avamar will be nothing more than a
licensed feature of Networker, is my guess (no separate Avamar client at
all). Although, they will probably still require you to have Avamar
storage nodes.
