(yeah, I know - he's confused; so what else is new? :-))

Anyway, I have a list of tape volumes that I want to mark as readonly and
manual recycle (see, we don't use a special job for month end, so in order
for these tapes to not expire or be marked recyclable, I need to do it
myself. I've mentioned that we should probably change our practices, but
that's a different story). I'd also like to have it retain this info
forever, so that if I did need to do a restore 5 years from now, I
wouldn't have to do a "scanner -i" on the tape, as I'm having to do now,
to meet some lawsuit's discovery of old email.

Is it "nsrmm -v -o readonly, manual volume"? I figured I would ask, before
just plowing ahead and changing something, perhaps wrongly. I'm confused
as to how to change the retention to "always".

As an aside, don't I want the retention on my month end tapes to be
forever? And if so, don't I want the browsing of those same tapes to also
be forever, so that I cana find just that 1 file in the whole 300G
saveset? And does that them mean that I want to mark these volumes as
"archive" (if I'm reading the manual correctly).
