I don't think you can do LAN-free backups with a BE license - everything
goes over the IP network to the NW master

You'd have to use the -M flag in your backup command (like this:
nsrndmp_save -T dump -M) to send the data to a non-NDMP device

You still need an NDMP client license

As a small bonus, you don't need a separate NDMP pool as the -M allows
mixing of regular and NDMP savesets

Subject: [Networker] NetWorker Business Edition and NDMP backup...

Hello List,

On NetWorker product option table, it mentions that 2 NDMP Client
Connections are supported on a Business Edition NetWorker base license.
(Two
NDMP Client Connection licenses are for Tier 1 or Tier 2 licenses only)

But business edition does not support a Storage Node or configuration of
a
RD device.

How do we have a NDMP device configured on the NAS for LAN free backup?
(Is
it possible!?)

How the NDMP drive should be set-up when we have Business Edition base
license? What will be the backup data flow architecture in this case?

Thanks in advance for your expertise and help.

Shyam
