I noticed that all the Windows clients had their "SYSTEM DB" and "SYSTEM STATE"
being backed up every day, even the backups were incremental. And some of the
client even had "SYSTEM DB" for 25 GB daily, even it should be incremental.
Here's one example:
03/12/08 13:52:36 savegrp: test-pc:probe succeeded.
test-pc:C:\ level=incr, dn=4, mx=1, vers=ssbrowse, p=4
test-pc:SYSTEM STATE:\ level=incr, dn=3, mx=1, vers=ssbrowse, p=4
test-pc:SYSTEM DB:\ level=incr, dn=2, mx=1, vers=ssbrowse, p=4
test-pc:SYSTEM FILES:\ level=incr, dn=1, mx=1, vers=ssbrowse, p=4
test-pc:ASR:\ level=incr, dn=0, mx=1, vers=ssbrowse, p=4
...
test-pc: SYSTEM STATE:\ level=full, 52 MB 00:03:57 18 files
test-pc: ASR:\ level=full, 1151 KB 00:04:07 12 files
test-pc: SYSTEM DB:\ level=full, 25 GB 00:45:56 119 files
...
What's in "SYSTEM DB" in fact?
Why the "SYSTEM DB" in all Windows boxes running FULL backup jobs everyday even
I run incremental backup for the systems?
Thanks a lot!
