Hello,
I can relate to symantec experience, trying to get any answer from them on
the antivirus products for Netapp was a ordeal, no confidence in them.
Any one looked into ComVault vs Networker ? Performance,
interpolaribility, recoverability, reporting, media management etc ?
Thanks

Netbackup to Networker

Of course they won't be able to solve your problem... but they call
quick! :-)

our record here:

Backupexec 11:
11 issues over 13 months. 0 resolved by support. 6 resolved by ground
up rebuilds of system. Yes... thats 6 full rebuilds in just over a
year. Things were great before the veritas buyout... but symantec
completely destroyed the product line. We used to be a full symantec
shop here for everything, but had no choice but to migrate to other
solutions. The root of our issues were related to excessive amounts of
backups data :-\ . Our system simply crushed the cataloging
infrastructure. The for salt in the wound, BE would crash every time
we tried to index a tape. If that doesn't give you chills... not sure
what would.

Networker:
3 issues over 18 months. 3 solved by support. No rebuilds. Still on
original catalogs and config. We have had one serious data corruption
issue on our disk-2-disk system that led to loss of backup sets. The
errors were caused by hardware failure during backups that networker
could not recover from.

Obviously everyone milage will vary.
