The permission's error is because the system where you are running the NMC
might need to get added to the administrator list on the target backup
server. You do that within Server properties ( Legato).
Just add system@"sourcemachine name( where you are running nmc
from).aig.com to the Target server admin properties.

Yes but someone did tell me that you can get the binaries from an older
release and it would work. I have NMC up but the datazone that my NMC is
defined to right now is down. I am trying to create disk drives on the
server running 7.4.1 and I am getting permission issues.
>From the NMC when I connect to the datazone in question and then try and
create a adv_file device I get PERMISSION DENIED, user SYSTEM on
livpwnmc01.aig.com does not have Configure networker privligies to
create the resource.
Thoughts?
World is treating me good. How about you? How was the power outage down
there the other day?

ED,
They did away with the nwadmin gui in 7.3.X, EMC only supports the NMC,
how's the world treating you?

All,
Is anyone using the native nwadmin gui for windows on the backup server
in lieu of the NMC server. I understand that all administrator functions
happen through NMC but I would like the abilitity to use the nwadmin
from the windows backup server.
I am running networker server and client 7.4.1 on a windows 2003 server.
