SnapImage I believe is a good option here, but in your case, powersnap would be 
a great option here too.  You could use it in one of two ways.  

You could have it generate your snapshots for you on the EVA and then mount 
them to the Networker server and index them.  These indexes would be associated 
with the client, not the mount host.  This would allow you to perform "instant" 
backups (creating a BCV) and maintain the advantage of having file level 
indexes and recoveries of these files without the slow file level backups.  In 
terms of recovery, you could then rollback the entire BCV, or just recover 
individual files from that BCV, without ever going to tape.  

Of course you could also use this in combination with backup to tape or disk 
also by sending all or one of these BCV's to tape, and of course, powersnap 
would associate the indexes correctly with the client and not the mount host.  
So when looking at the indexes for that client, you will have some backups that 
are on the BCV and some that are traditional backups.

Just thought I'd elaborate, since I don't think a lot of people know about 
Powersnap.

The storage system is HP EVA. I will look at use of SnapImage to backup these 
two disks.
   
  The EVA has snapshot capability which will allow us to mount the snapshot 
onto the backup server and backup the disks but we will still have the problem 
of a long backup due to many files and also the backup is then associated with 
the networker server index rather than client index.

Hi, what options does networker have to backup a server with lots of small 
files. Each night the backup will be 1.5 million files on two drives on a 
win2003 server. I know that with netbackup i could look at flashsnap backup. Is
