[Networker] Networker 7.4 & Physical End of Tape
2008-01-04 17:19:31
I upgraded our Networker server from 7.2.2 to 7.4.1 yesterday and
generally it's been going pretty well. One question though. We a tape
becomes full we are getting a:
38758 01/04/08 05:09:55 PM 2 0 0 1 16562 0 regulus nsrd media warning:
/dev/rmt/5cbn writing: Invalid argument, at file 312 record 9603
42506 01/04/08 05:09:55 PM 2 0 0 1 16562 0 regulus nsrd media notice:
LTO Ultrium-2 tape 000266 on /dev/rmt/5cbn is full
42506 01/04/08 05:09:55 PM 2 0 0 1 16562 0 regulus nsrd media notice:
LTO Ultrium-2 tape 000266 used 559 GB of 190 GB capacity
There is no indication that Legato is reading Physical EOT, rather it's
getting a write error, marking it as EOT and moving to the next tape.
Is there some reason it's doing this instead of finding the real EOT?
We are running Networker 7.4.1 on a Sun Sparc V480 running Solaris 9.
I have a default st.conf since the LTO-2 is supported in the kernel.
I've never seen this issue with 7.2.
