NMO does NOT put Oracle into backup mode. This is not how it works. NMO
is an interface between RMAN and Oracle - you still need to run an RMAN
script to backup your database. You certainly should not be running save
commands. I think you have missed something vital here and I doubt that
your backups are recoverable.
