Hi,

In fact it is supported to use i.e. 7.4 client against a 7.2 Server, even with
less functionality.
We used 7.4 Clients on 64 Bit Windows Systems (it was the 1st version
supporting 64 Bit Windows) and our Server -at that point- was a 7.1.3.
In this case You will just have the 7.1.3 Functionality at 7.4 client site
(cause this is what the server understand) so no Backup-statistics and so on.
I'm really sure that it is not sopported to install a 7.2 Server 7.4 client and
i.e. 7.2 Storagenode package on the networker Server Host, that really makes no
sense to me...

Regards Thorsten

Betreff: [Networker] Rule for version mix Networker Client / Server ?

Hi,

as far as i can remember the rule "Networker Client have to be the same version
as the server or less" was always true. So it was not supported to use a server
with a client using a higher version.

Now i heard from a customer that Legato (EMC) itself supports Networker Server
(7.2) with a client of version 7.4. I found no proof of this.

Regards Stefan
