yes, we are san attached, and all of our esxhosts and our proxy server can see 
the all luns, but the vcb configuration file on the proxy calls out specific 
esxhost name and userid/pw. how do you get that to work to back up a vm on a 
different esxhost than the one you have in the config file on the proxy?

Not sure if you are san attached with your ESX hosts, if you zone the storage 
for all your esx and proxy server , only one proxy server would be needed, this 
is my understanding, i have not heard of one proxy per each esx host atall.
