Hello,
I will concede that there may be a need to hard zone in some SAN 
configurations, i.e if the wwn on the HBA, server or devices are subject 
to change constatanly.However, our library config eliminates such a 
situation ( just talking about Tape drives) since it does not present the 
real serial number\wwn to the switch ( ADIC I2K) and also allows us to 
service the underlying hardware without effecting zone configs.
I am sure there must be a similar setup for STK.
