Stan,
I'm running 7.3.3 and I see the AFTD mounts get unmounted once in a while. I've never figured out why it happens. I've never reported it to EMC either (I've got enough issues open with them). I just regularly check the devices list in NMC and if any of the AFTD's are unmounted (or their RO side -- which is the more common problem), I remount them. If I forget to check, I usually get alerted when I see a request to mount a volume on the device.

I think it is safe to assume that the network outage was a contributing factor to the AFTD getting unmounted, but it might have been a coincidence.

Are you using scripted or NW Automatic staging? Automatic staging doesn't unmount the volume from the device.

Francis;

For staging, I am not using any scripts. What I do is have some groups set up where they are assigned to the disk pool. These groups are automatically scheduled like my groups that go to tape.
