Re: [Networker] Novell problem

I thought about placing a storage node at the location but I'm just afraid it
may take longer than what it is now and here's why: as I mentioned, we have the
server and storage node on main location and client on remote site.
Client (REMOTE LOCATION) ---> server (MAIN) ---> storage node (MAIN)
If I were to keep storage node with the client, how would the data travel?
Would it be like this?
Client (REMOTE) ---> server (MAIN) ---> storage node (REMOTE same as client)
or this?
Client (REMOTE) ---> storage node (same location as client)
Would the backup data be saved directly to storage node while server only keep
the index/resource files or would the data go first to the server and then
transferred back to the storage node? I'm worry about the latter part. If
that's not the case, please let me know and I would move my storage node next
to the client box and try it that way. I will try with your first message to do
the backup with compression on Wednesday and see how it goes. I may still have
to wait about 3~4 hrs to see if it would fail or succeed and I will try to run
the backup on 7.3.3 test server.
Thank you.
