Dave,

Hmmm...

Is this a brand new set up with brand new tapes? One time we got a
batch of bad tapes but that's unlikely. I've never had problems with
block size so I don't know about that.

I see both tapes errored at the same time so it doesn't seem the drives
would be the problem. A reset on the SCSI bus can cause tapes to be
marked full prematurely so you might want to look into that. In general
I'd recommend that your tape library shouldn't share the SCSI bus with
other devices if possible.

Once again it prematurely marked my tapes full. One at 27 gigs and the
other at 30 gigs.
Why is it giving this error?????
Block size is 32768 bytes not 131072 bytes.

Here are the errors in the log exactly when it happened.

The first 2 lines show I/O errors

10/03/07 21:37:25 nsrd: media warning: /dev/rmt/1cbn writing: I/O error,

10/03/07 21:37:25 nsrd: media warning: /dev/rmt/0cbn writing: I/O error,

at file 18 record 11805

And then it marks both tapes full
