i had to look, but i signed up for the list in the iphase days,
just over 10 years ago (sept 97). (our systems guy who was responsible
for networker upped and quit with almost no notice, which resulted
in a new hat and some blind panic for me.)

and, unfortunately, i'm still as confused and incoherent as i was
then. plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
