Sorry, one other question: Staging moves the savesets (in our case)
from our VTL to our I500 physical library. Since we are staging and not
cloning, I should only ever see the SSID in one library, correct?

Staging IS cloning, plus some additional steps to make NetWorker forget
about the source. See the man page for nsrstage.

If the stage fails for some reason, you may see it in both places.
I can imagine that there might be a small window of time just after the clone
finishes (successfully) but before NetWorker removes the original from
the media database where the SSID would also show up in both places.

 How
would I go about comparing the 2 libraries savesets, then deleting the
duplicate ones from the VTL?

If the stage operation completed successfully, staging should
automatically remove the source entries from the media database, making
NetWorker forget that there's anything in those spots on the "tapes" in
your VTL. Because NetWorker believes that it's dealing with real tape,
it can't actually purge what was physically written to the "tape".

Otherwise, mminfo would be the way to go. You probably want to run two
queries, with location set to your VTL in the first and your library
in the second. You may also want to use the "copies" attribute in
your queries.
