I agree that you over-reacted to Davina's comment. Davina obviously
misunderstood your notation, so simply explaining your notation would
have sufficed. Please try not to "yell" at someone else so quickly.

I've used both forums and mailing lists quite a bit, would consider
myself quite proficient at both, and have never seen the type of syntax
you used. I see you're from Europe. Perhaps that syntax is common
there, but it's not common in the US.

You may not realize it, but although you're communicating via a forum,
Davina is not. The forum is being gatewayed onto a mailing list, which
predates the forum by years and years. So, the idioms you're
comfortable
with for a forum don't necessarily apply to the mailing list. I
interpreted your initial response exactly the same way that Davina did
--
as incorrectly attributing what was written to Davina.

So, thanks for educating myself and others for how to use a forum, but
keep in mind that many of us are not using a forum, we're using an email
list.

You're right, it is possible (but very dangerous), and Davina knows
that.
But nwadmin is not *included* with the software anymore. If you keep a
copy of nwadmin around from an older version of NetWorker, you can use
it
to talk to 7.3.3, but it's dangerous to make changes with it.

No, but you should realize that not everyone is communicating via a
forum.
I also think you overreacted to what Davina wrote.
