I totally agree with Mark, in generel terms it's a coin flip as to what
VTL would best fit your Solution design, and basically comes down to what
your expectations are, i.e.
Dedup req's would then have you considering the Quantum DXi series,
Sepaton, DataDomain etc, then from there you would see what else you
require from the VTL,
what sort of internal processing power/memory the VTL has, especially when
Dedup is involved.
What sort of admin access is available, FalconStor/IPstor is an easy to
learn, easy to control Front End, so is the Quantum Dxi console.
Do you require automatic Tape exports to occur to physical Media, then the
EDL or NetApp VTL would be a consideration using the embedded backend
application acsls etc
Do you have more than one VTL and require Remote Replication like NetApps
and EMC's
How much capacity and growth is required, how easy is it to UpScale etc
What budget is available, and what are you pred'd to spend on licensing
and Support etc.

the list could go on, i wouldnt suggest picking a VTL out of a hat, but
have an unbiased Solutions company identify what is the best solution for
you. The few extra dollars will certainly save a lot more in the long run.
