We just installed a windows 2003 server (64-bit) dedicated storage node
into our 7.2.2 environment. Networker server is Red Hat 3es at 7.2.2
Build 422. Every time we run a back of the 2003 server that includes
the SYSTEM STATE we get the following:

* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ ASR System Files - Starting save
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ ASR System Files - AsrCreateStateFile failed -
0x32
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ ASR System Files - Failed to create the ASR state
files
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ ASR System Files - Error saving
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ Performance Counters - Starting save
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ Performance Counters - Saved
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ COM+ Registration Database - Starting save
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ C:\WINDOWS\Temp\lg_combu.tmp
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ COM+ Registration Database - Saved
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ Registry - Starting save
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ Registry - Error saving
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ save: RPC error: RPC cannot encode arguments
* grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ save: save of SYSTEM STATE:\ to
alderaan.us.glenraven.com failed
09/18/07 11:26:43 savegrp: grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ will retry 1 more
time(s)

And this in the daemon.log file:

09/18/07 11:26:46 nsrd: grnas:SYSTEM STATE:\ saving to pool
'Offsite' (000123)
09/18/07 11:26:51 nsrd: media warning: rd=grnas:\\.\Tape0 writing: The
request could not be performed because of an I/O device error., at file
2 record 51
09/18/07 11:26:51 nsrd: media notice: LTO Ultrium tape 000123 on
rd=grnas:\\.\Tape0 is full
09/18/07 11:26:51 nsrd: media notice: LTO Ultrium tape 000123 used 3200
KB of 100 GB capacity

This is causing the tape being used during the SYSTEM STATe to be marked
full after a few MB being written to it. Sometimes the other savesets
on that tape are marked in-progress suspect. And sometimes it causes
the drive to change from write enabled yes to no, which causes more
problems. Has anyone had this issue? Is there an issue with the 2003
server being 64-bit?

Thanks -- Jon
