I am not 100% sure because my NDMP drives are not directly
connected to the devices they back up, but you should be able to
use nsrjb with the -f parameter and point it to the specific
device name, including the name of the storage node. For example,
if the storage node (or NAS) is called "BigStuff" and the device
name on it was "/dev/1n" you would do something along the lines of
nsrjb -f BigStuff:/dev/1n -L -b "pool"
You might also need the -j parameter and/or -S
The nsrjb man page contains more info on this subject.
Just to clarify, my example is to label a tape. If you replace the "-
L" with "-l" it will load a tape and unloading it is done with "-u".
