That's the first I've heard of virtual tapes getting out of whack in any
VTL. I'd suggest that this is a serious problem that needs to be
escalated up NetApp support until it's fixed or you're speaking directly
with the CEO. Trying to work around such core malfunctions might drive
you crazy.

Subject: [Networker] VTL & Cloning Blues

Hello,
We are attempting to use Netapp VTL with Networker server 7.3.2 on
Windows, the issue is that the VTL based Tapes often seems to get out of

wack, showing incorrect labels, barcodes slots etc as well as cloning
seems to get stuck ( we are using auto group cloning), the group would
finish and then the cloning gets stuck ? No errors?
I would imagine for the VTL based netapp emulated VTL lib we should turn

off barcodes, barcode reader and perhaps verify Tape on unload, what
about
timers, any other special config consideration which should differ from
Physical lib ( we already distinguish between VTL and Adic by selecting
different drive emulation), any suggestions, usually, nsrjb -HEIvv gets
the slots back in sync.
Any further suggestions ? any body using scripts to check if auto
cloning
worked as expected, what is the work around for stuck group & clients,
failures, how do we ensure every VTL tape is being cloned ?
Thanks
