Actually, I'd make it an
"alter system archive log current"
Switch logfile returns the prompt as soon as you issue it, although the
logfile is still being copied in the background. Archive log current
switches logs, but doesn't return the prompt until the copy is done.

backup archivelog all delete all input;
is NOT neccessary, the "backup archivelog all"
makes a log switch automatic. You can check
in the oracle alert log and the rman
script output
