There's no education needed and no removal of the skip of cores needed either. 
You can use either .nsr (nsr.dir on windows) files to modify the directives 
applied to the directory structure where valid cores exist. You can also do so 
in the directive right there on the Networker server. If you have lots of 
exceptions it could get ugly, but you don't have to go the route of backing up 
actual core dump files to avoid missing backups of those other core directories 
and files.
 
Take a look at the 'forget' keyword.
