Hi,

I need to install 7.x.x security fix (nsrexecd binary replacement) for a Solaris 9 primary server and two Linux storage nodes. Server is running 7.2.2 64-bit (non-jumbo). Both snodes are running 7.2.2 32-bit (non-jumbo). Any suggestions or pit falls to watch out for? Not ready yet to go for 7.3.x just yet, but they will drop support for 7.2.2 within 6 months, I know.

Here's the steps I was going to do:
1. Create level full backup of server (and all client indexes just in case).
2. Stop software on server and snodes.
3. Uninstall 7.2.2 software on primary server, and then (a) install 7.2.2 jumbo (64-bit) version and then (b) copy new nsrexecd binary into place.
4. Ditto for snodes (but with 32-bit version).
5. Start up software on primary server, followed by snodes.
6. Upgrade all clients to 7.2.2 jumbo with similar nsrexecd replacement.

Clients might take another day, but a 7.2.2 client should be able to work with the 7.2.2 jumbo server OK ... I would think?

Will it be necessary to re-configure the snodes and/or jukebox configurations? Seems to me that I had to do that once before when I upgraded the server software but can't recall if that was to a new release or not. I would think that the configuration would remain untouched and everything should come up and work same as before with no re-inventory of tapes needed, etc., but ...

Thanks.

George
