Hi All

I'm trying to schedule a full backup to run once a month and to
skip all the other days. This data is read-only and is only being
backed up for disaster recovery.

I'd like to have a schedule that looks like this:

  =======================
    S  M  T  W  T  F  S
  =======================
    s  s  s  s  s  f  s
    s  s  s  s  s  s  s
    s  s  s  s  s  s  s
    s  s  s  s  s  s  s
  =======================

I understand that using an incremental instead of skip will give
the same answer (the data's not changing) but this is an NDMP
backup and I believe that the filer will do some work just to
determine that there's nothing to backup, and I'd rather that Networker
did the work, rather than the NetApp.

  The problem I'm seeing is that the override I set for the full
  on the 1st Friday is not showing up in the subsequent months.

I believe it's possible to do this, as a similar scheduling arrangement
was setup by my predecessor and is working fine (in fact, his is
more complicated, as it has fulls on 1st/3rd weeks with different
retention to 2nd/4th weeks and incrementals). Like this

======================================================================
    "Incremental" "10 Year Retention" "6 Month Retention"
======================= ======================= ======================
  S  M  T  W  T  F  S     S  M  T  W  T  F  S     S  M  T  W  T  F  S
======================= ======================= ======================
  s  i  i  i  i  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  f  s     s  s  s  s  s  s  s
  s  i  i  i  i  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  f  s
  s  i  i  i  i  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  f  s     s  s  s  s  s  s  s
  s  i  i  i  i  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  s  s     s  s  s  s  s  f  s
======================= ======================= ======================
======================================================================

I'm using the Windows GUI [Version 7.2.2], but our server's a Linux box
so maybe I should be using the X GUI (couldn't make it work there either)

I'd appreciate any insights people have. Perhaps I'm going about this
the wrong way altogether?

Thanks & Regards
Mark
