[Networker] Recovery
2007-08-08 09:01:49
Hello,
The procedure suggested to you is correct, however, sometimes scanner is
fenikey, try scanning the tapes without any extra cmds, i.e only
scanner -i (tape path) and nothing else, once you can see the savesets
that are avallable to you on the tape, you can use saveset recovery for
the client in question, ( If directed recovery is unsucessfull)
What type of error are you receiving, usually, recovering saveset is less
memory intensive then directed recover.
Where are you recovering too ? perpahs the problem may be network etc ???
Try recovering locally to the server to avoid using network then copy out
what you need.
The other posibility is that you may be hitting bad Tape, or other
hardware failure, look at the logs and may be there is a clue.
Thanks
