Hello,
Having a bootstrap on it's own tape has worked for me since mixing backup 
server in other group often proved unrealible for generating timely 
bootstrap, so i seperated the Pool & run the bootstrap last in the backup 
cycle, since you only have one drive, you have a bit of an issue if the 
backups of other servers\groups do not end by the time you want to run 
bootstrap group.
I think depending on your enviroment\backup size\server count, it may help 
to add addtional drive for failover and help with scheduling, you are 
perhaps better off investing in one of the 2U drive silos, that hold 
couple of drives and few slots ( i dont think they cost whole lot more 
then standalong drives) that way canging the tape etc is not a problem.
If you can use disk backup and staging that may give you even more 
flexibility, but again it's all what your company is willing to pay for.
