It turned out that I failed to connect a SCSI terminator and a cable

got that working and I am now able to use NetWorker to set up a tape
library resource and it loads tapes via "nsrjb" but unloading tapes
doesn't work. I was told by Qualstar's tech support that this problem
is due to faulty drive mapping.
They are probably right
Does anyone know how to fix that? I have googled and checked this
list's archives, but I came up empty handed. EMC's PowerLink has some
information on how to do it with Solaris, but even the NetWorker 7.2
admin guide shows the Solaris way, which won't work on Red Hat Linux.
Firstly reboot your server making sure that you have the SCSI
devices on before that.
This as Linux in its standard incarnation will behave as badly as
Windows and remap the drives according to the order in which it finds
them at every reboot/reload of st-driver.
Secondly use "inquire" to get the /dev/xxxx path for the drives.
Thirdly use "sjisn" to get the order of the drives that the library
sees.
Then match the serial numbers to get a table where:
library drive #1 = /dev/xxxx
library drive #2 = /dev/yyyy
Then edit the jukebox resource to get the drives in library order,
alternatively reconfigure the jukebox
If you are running 7.3 or 7.4 Networker will do the job for you,
just remember the reboot to get the initial order right.
Dag,
Thanks so much for your help. I am wondering something though. The
inquire command says each of the five scsi devices is a robotic
controller and sjisn reports the same information for each devices.
Somehow, I suspect something is wrong.
Here's the output from inquire and sjisn ...
[root@listmail ~]$ /usr/sbin/inquire -l
-l flag found: searching all LUNs, which may take over 10 minutes per
adapter
for some fibre channel adapters. Please be patient.

Is this correct? I assume not, but how do I correct it? It seems to
me, I should see four LTO-3 tape drive devices and only one robotic
controller. I did just reboot this server prior to generating this
output.
