Re: [Networker] How to duplicate tapes

Vernon,
Using networker to do this you would use nsrstage (you can read
manual for full description) here's one way to do it.
mminfo -s servername -q "SSID" -r"volume=volumename1,
volume=volumename2,volume=volumaneme3"
This gives a list of savesets on those volumes (you can be fancy and
check flags so you son't get orphaned heads, middles, or tails but, by
leaving them in Networker will reinflate the saveset to copy it so be
prepared for other tapes to be used)
Having your list of SSIDs you can save them to a file for input into the
nsrstage command or pipe them directly
Nsrstage -s servername -v -b pool -m -S -f filename
(the -f filename is for when you've saved the SSID list, I find this
handy for doing cross check to make sure all is copied)
Other methods include using third party software/devices and I have no
experience of those (by using networker you can use either tape in
networker and it won't complain...)
