Hello,
If you like to get familier with the GUI and funtionality then you can
place it on a test server and connect to your pord server and do all the
reporting, traning etc.
Even thought EMC says you can deploy NMC on any server, i have not had
much luch, unless networker server is on the same machine.
I suggest you deploy first on Test server then prod, NMC dB is easily
restored, while installing NMC you will be promted to create client
defination and dB backup options related to NMC server and it's dB.
Basically, NMCASA:/gst_on_cor1s015/lgto_gst, saveset needs to be backed
up, where cor1s015 is NMC host server name.
DR guide has instructions on recovering this dB also, it's pretty
straightforward and you should not have any issues.
I belive before upgrading to new version of networker if you already have
NMC installed, then you will need to un-install it then re-install NMC
during upgrading Networker.
