We are discussing taking our Networker server to VM.

My first concern is the FC HBAs as mentioned in another post.
Has anyone gone too VM for Networker?
Has it worked?

Our general experience (unrelated to Networker) with VM (ESX server) is that it cannot be used were you have heavy I/O. Since I/O is virtualized in the CPU, heavy I/O translates into high CPU utilization. Besides, our Networker server (a 280R with two 750Mhz CPUs) is spending the better part of the night at ~75% CPU utilization, so it deserves its own (non-virtual) hardware (usually, you would only put servers with small CPU utilization on a VM). I would expect similar CPU utilization for any non trivial Networker deployment.
