Patti,

I don't know how your pools are configured but a client-initiated (adhoc/manual) backup has no group name associated with it and has a level of "manual". If your pool allows only certain levels of save sets to go to it, and "manual" is not one of them, it won't go to that pool. Just add "manual" as one of the allowed levels or else deselect all levels in the pool configuration.

I'm stumbling around in a new area. We are adding Windows clients to
our *nix backup system for the first time. I have scheduled backups
working, but for the first time I will have some clients who will need
to be able to initiate adhoc backups. Right now all of my custom
parameters, scheduling, media pool, etc are handled at the group level.
I've added the client name that I'm testing to the specific media pool,
however, the backup is still dropping into the Default pool. I've
looked all through the admin guide and I'm not clear on where to hook
the client to the designated media pool for adhoc processing. Any help
is appreciated.
