Usually this is the case, but as you will know Siobhán there have been a few cases where EMC/Legato have said that they will support a newer client than the server.

I have a recent email trail where an EMC support manager said that they will support a 7.3.2 client with a 7.2.x server, for the specific issue of ZFS support. In the same trail an EMC SE manager said that ZFS is not supported with 7.2.x, she obviously didn't know about the hotfix mentioned in this thread.



On an only slightly related note, it seems I am not the only one reluctant to upgrade to 7.3.x......
