don't use the GUI to load the tape. Manually load it in the tape drive and 
start the scan via command line. You must keep in mind that you have a tape in 
your tape drive, because when you look at your GUI, it will not show any 
mounted tape in there. Once you are done with the scanning, you also need to 
unmount/eject it manually.

I am trying to do a restore of some data and need to scanner a tape.  I
have the tape and the correct SSID on the tape that I want to scanner but
the tape is no longer in the media index and I get an error when I try to
load the tape in a drive on my autochanger.  It says, "will not be loaded
since pool 'Unknown pool' is not available.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

I am running a Windows 2003 server with Networker 7.2.1.
