Anyone know if any current NetWorker product supports Microsoft Vista?
Microsoft has had preview releases available for months...
I guess you missed my email from Friday.
I got it late; one of our incoming mail gateways apparently took in
250,000 messages, and our mail admin ended up moving the queue directory
and running it (and the virus and spam tagger) in the background.
I tried NetWorker 7.2.2 on Vista
Enterprise.
I'm glad you reported the results of your test and it's good to know that
it at least partially works. I'm never fully comfortable with using
NetWorker on a new OS until EMC actually says they support it, though.
I only tried it with a a few GB worth of files, but it worked
fine. What makes no sense though to me is why NetWorker 7.2.2 for Windows
would work in a virtualized Windows Vista environment on my MacBook Pro, but
not when I tried the Mac OS X client on the very same hardware! Go figure!
But wasn't it a PPC (only) client that you were running on your MBP?
Sounds like the PPC emulation later (Rosetta, IIRC) isn't doing something
that the PPC client needs.
